The president cannot give the lead to a radical transformation of society without a primitive and animal bonding with the voters. He must also be tuned in to the beat of the times. Obama lacks either of these qualities. Consequently the initial Obama plans of leading the third Democratic wave after Roosevelt and Lyndon Johnson is stillborn.
The government is not however willing to admit this. It is similar to the instance of the Bush group that did not easily realize that social security reform and greater privatization were also dead. The next three years would not see much of federal activism.
