That said, it takes a lot of work for a president to make himself a one termer. You have to drag many people out of their recliners, out of their ruts and force them to remove you from office. Our inexperienced present president is doing just that. Let’s take a look at how.
Accept the concept of the Imperial Presidency. Mr. Obama took like a duck to water on this one. Look at photographs of him before he was elected and almost immediately after. It shows on his face that he believed that by electing him, the voters were saying that they agreed with the vision he seemed to have of himself as a messiah, touched by the hand of God and given the mission of saving the world. If he were a baker or shoe salesman, this would not be a big deal, but what this leads to in a president is the creation of a Teflon personality, upon which all outside advice and input bounces off. He does not know that intelligence is only a tool, to be used to gain wisdom. He stops at intelligence. In his world, no one knows more about anything than he does. This is in direct contravention of a much more healthy approach, which says that somewhere in the world, there is someone who knows more about the thing you are sure you know everything about.
This, by itself, is a fatal flaw for this president.
